Yehu adheres to all relevant laws and regulations. We continue to strengthen and align our governance structures, policies and procedures to support our operating environment and strategy.

The company is led by a competent Board under the leadership of Dr. Rita Lugogo with a strong social vision of empowering the socio-economically marginalized, in the rural Kenya.

Unique Entity

Yehu Microfinance Services Ltd (YMSL) provides a unique entity in the provision of financial services to the low segment of the market. It predominantly focuses on the rural poor of Kenya through an adapted Grameen group lending model.

Rapid Growth

This model has seen it rapidly grow in the Coastal Region of Kenya in the last 22 years and it has now successfully replicated the model in Eastern Region of Kenya with over 50,000 clients largely women and the youth, served through 15 branch outlets.

Focus

Yehu focuses on empowering socio-economically marginalized rural entrepreneurs through provision of financial literary and financing for creation and enhancing of businesses through loan products under: Business, Agriculture, Green energy, Asset, Micro-insurance, water & sanitation, education and consumer loans thereby improving their social and economic welfare.

Governance

Its Management is under Mr. Adet N. Kachi, a Microfinance Specialist and accomplished strategist who has been the driver of the rapid growth of the company experienced in the last 10 years, an average clientele growth rate of 40 per cent per annum.

Board Chair Person

Dr. Rita Lugogo

As the founder of the microfinance, she carries the vision of Yehu. Dr. Rita is passionately involved in community development in rural Coastal region through Choice Humanitarian, an International NGO whose Head office is in Utah, USA. She holds a PhD in human nutrition and was once a lecturer in the now Egerton University before she got fully immersed in community development activities.
Chief Executive Officer/Board Secretary

Mr. Adet N. Kachi

Mr. Adet is the Chief Executive Officer/executive director of the company. He has been at the helm of the organization as its CEO for more than 15 Years. Adet Kachi brought into the organization impeccable international experience having worked in Southern Africa in the same field before joining Yehu. He has been instrumental in its tremendous growth and positioning in the Microfinance space both in Kenya and East Africa Region.
He is well endowed with strategic managerial skills besides being a microfinance expert. He has demonstrated empirical and theoretical hands on experience on Human Resource, Change Management, Financial and Risk Management as well as Corporate Management. Adet, is also a part time lecturer in a local University. He has served in several Boards in the microfinance industry e.g. Association of Microfinance Institutions, Kenya – AMFI, Association of Microfinance Professionals of Kenya – AMPK.
Mr. Adet is a holder of Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, has a strategic and leadership training at Harvard Business School (Boston-USA) and a Diploma in SMEs and Development awarded by Galilee College, Israel. He is pursuing a Doctorate degree in Business Administration in the area of strategic management and leadership at JKUAT.

Mr. Nabil Adamjee

Mr. Nabil Adamjee is a non-executive director of the company. He has broad experience in entrepreneurship with a wide network as a Rotarian. As a businessman he runs a mining company and has extensive interest in green energy. Mr. Nabil is currently the CEO at SOLFIN SOLUTIONS LTD
He is a holder of Bachelor’s in appropriate technology from JKUAT and a holder of diploma in business administration from Kenya Institute of Management.

Ms.Pamela Nyakoah Osore Bissem

Pamela is a non-executive Director of the company, she is an accomplished Information Systems Risk, Security, and Audit professional with over 10 years of experience in leadership and delivery capacities. She is a Principal Information Systems Auditor at Safaricom PLC. She has a deep understanding of the IT landscape and the challenges that companies face in securing and managing their IT systems. She is also a strong advocate for process improvement and has helped to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations.
She works with teams of IT auditors in conducting comprehensive audits of the M-PESA system, Customer Support systems, Value Added Systems (VAS), IT infrastructure, Telecommunication systems, and Cloud platforms - which identifies and mitigates several risks. In addition, she provides project assurance, with a focus on digital maturity reviews and benefits validation.

Pamela holds a Bachelor of Science, Computer Science and Technology degree from Maseno University. She is a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), and Certified Internal Audit Quality Assessor. She is a member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)-Kenya Chapter, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Kenya Chapter, Women on Boards Network (WOBN), and Institute of Directors Kenya.

Mr. Yusuf Oreu Lugogo

Mr. Yusuf Oreu Lugogo is a holder of Bachelor in Science and commerce Finance Option. Having expertise in Performance Management, Quality Management System (ISO 9000), project management, strategic planning, compliance, and Risk management. He has worked in the public and private sectors and currently working as a Country Director Choice Humanitarian organization

Ms. Jeth Wanjiku Maina

Madame Jeth Wanjiku is a non-executive director of the company. She possesses over 15 years of experience in various functions and roles in Internal Audit, Risk management, Operations and Quality Management Systems with experience in public and corporate sector. Jeth is a member of ICPAK, a member at Women on Board Network and a member of IRM (00038530), ISACA & IIA. She is currently managing partner at Grimco Enterprise Limited.
She is a holder of Master’s in Business Administration (MBA – Finance option, Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Sociology – BA Economics and Sociology.

Ms. Susan Waceke Mutuiru

Waceke serves as a non-executive Director of the company. She is a highly qualified Risk and Compliance practitioner with over 13 years of multi-industry experience who is responsible for leading the design and placement of risk management along with regulatory compliance programs to mitigate company exposure and transfer appropriate levels of risk.
She is the head of risk management at Britam General Insurance, is a non-executive director of Solidaridad East and Central Africa and sits on the Africa Supervisory Board for the organization. Waceke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) as well as various risk management certificates in operational risk and IT risk.
Waceke is a member of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). She is also a full member of the Women on Boards Network in Kenya and a member of The Boardroom Africa Network.

Ms. Rose Nekesa Maruti

Rose is a non-executive Director of the company, she is a seasoned Human Resources (HR) professional with immense experience as an HR generalist having worked in the Banking, Telecommunications and Manufacturing industries for the last 25 years both at strategic and operational levels. She is a Board Committee member for the Women on Boards Network Finance & Partnerships Committee and a Certified Trustee under the Retirement Benefits Authority.
Rose is a full member of the Women on Boards Network in Kenya, a Practicing member of the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM) and a member of The Boardroom Africa Network. She is also a Mentor under the Global Give Back Circle (GGBC) which is funded by Mastercard Foundation to provide mentorship to aspiring young leaders in Africa.
Currently Rose is the Head of Human Resources & Administration at Mastermind Tobacco Kenya Limited. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Strathmore Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Management Science and Business Administration from Strathmore University and a Diploma in Human Resources from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). She has also undergone extension training in areas of Leadership, Performance Management, Change Management, Finance and Mentorship among others.

Ms. Anne Mwasi

Anne Mwasi is a non-executive Director of the company, she bring over 20 years’ accumulated experience both from the Financial sector and the Public sector. She also serves as the CEO/Board Secretary at Nyamira County Public Service Board. Anne has held different roles in the Microfinance industry both at operational and strategic levels. She has served as a Board Member at The Institute of Internal Auditors. She co-founded Nyamira County Women in Leadership Caucus where she nurtures her ambition to provide leadership advisories and mentorship programs to young women aspiring to grow up the ladder. Anne is a member of several bodies including, The Institute of Directors, The Institute of the Certified Secretaries, The National Public Service Boards Forum, The Association of County Public Service Board Secretaries and The Women on Boards Network
She is a Certified Secretary, a Certified Internal Audit Quality Assessor and an accredited Governance Auditor with distinct expertise in Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Finance management, Value Based Leadership and Internal Audit.
Anne is a holder of Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Nairobi and is currently defending a Doctorate Degree at the same University focusing on ‘Gender Diversity in Boards, Board Capital, Firm Characteristics and Performance of Microfinance Institutions in Kenya.
